• started crawling (7/21/08)
• ate toast (7/25/08)
• visited her grandparents in Newport
• started meats-turkey to be exact (7/25/08)
• moved up to the waddler room at daycare (7/21/08)
• bathed by herself in the big bath tub which made her appreciate her duck tub (7/26/08)

Makayla must have been thirsty! She was lapping the water out of the tub.

Makayla can't pull up on her own yet. She is not quite strong enough for that yet. She does love to stand though. She is hanging onto her crib in these pictures. Her crib is so pretty, and I rarely get to show it off. I take every chance I get.

Water Baby

We got Makayla an inflatable pool from Wal-Mart this week. She used it for the first time on Saturday. She absolutely loved the water. She walked aound the pool in her floatie, jumped, and turned herself around in circles. She had so much fun.

Makayla took a bath in the kitchen sink at my parent's house last weekend because we did not take her duck tub.

Today was a big day

Makayla started crawling today! Yea! She also moved up to the

Waddler class at daycare. We are so proud of her, but I am sort

of sad that she did all of this growing up in one day.

Hi, Uncle Ryan!

This is a picture of Makayla and her Uncle Ryan from last weekend when we went to visit.

Daddy's stuff

Now that Makayla has started moving around she is able to get into stuff. This is a picture of her with her Dad's Mario Kart steering wheel. She got this out of the basket where we keep all of his video game controls.

She also likes to open the drawer on the entertainment center in the living room.

She is only scooting backwards and in circles, so I don't understand how she can get to a place that started out in front of her. Really, I know how she does it. She scoots backwards until she gets where she wants to be, and after she gets there she turns herself around to be facing it. That just seems to be a lot of trouble when she could just go forwards. I guess that some people just have to do things the hard way. I am glad that I am not that way, LOL! I really have no idea where she got that trait.

Makayla is giving Mistie (her cousin) a huge kiss in this picture. The funny thing is that we just wanted to get a picture of them with Mistie's arm around Makayla! Makayla just kept kissing her!

Makayla loves this aquarium

It is her ocean wonders aquarium. (It's the blue and white thing hanging on her bed.) Don't you like her sheets? They have pretty flowers and Japanese people in pointy hats on them!

I bet that you have noticed

We take most of our pictures in this room. It is our front guestroom with a big window. I don't even use a flash. I can almost guarantee you that the flash is not even turned on right now on my camera. Natural lighting just looks so much better in pictures. Don't you think? Well, Now at least you know why we seem to have hundreds of the same pictures of Makayla in different outfits.

Nathan, Makayla, and Me

Last weekend we went to Nathan's grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary party in Oklahoma. The party was great! Makayla loved all the attention.

This week Makayla...

• celebrated her first 4th of July
• went to the Dr. about her thrush (It's still there, but it will go away on it's own since there is not much.)
• started biting me while nursing
• stayed with her Granna while we went out for our anniversary
• started getting bad bed head
• wore only her diaper for 2 whole days, LOL! (except her PJ's at night)

All American Girl!

It's late. I know. Makayla celebrated her 1st 4th of July this year. Her Granna and Grandaddy came over, and we cooked out on the grill. 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I definitely miss the fireworks. We haven't done fireworks for the past 2 years. Really, I don't think I have seen any real fireworks for like 4 years!

I am trying

I guess that we are all still recovering from our road trip last weekend. I still haven't been able to post any pictures. I promise that I will do it tomorrow night. Hold me to that! We have a ton to show you this week. Really, I think I probably have enough for a couple of weeks just from our visit last weekend!
