This week Makayla...

• started to pull her knee up to her tummy and grab the side of the bathtub (like she is trying to pull herself up to a standing position)
• bounce when you hold her or try to feed her in her high chair
• decided that she really enjoys sucking her bottom lip
• rode in the car all the way to Oklahoma and back
• played with momma in the car for at least 2 hours because she did not want to be in the back seat bored without anyone to play with in the car.
• figured out how to get her own toys out when momma has them seperated into 2 piles (thrushy toys that she can't play with and clean toys that she can play with)
• went to her great-grandparent's 50th anniversary party
• slept through the night in her pack-n-play one night
• kept mommy and daddy up all night another night because her momma and daddy thought that she could make it without taking a bath after the party (BAD IDEA-She has had a bath every night since starting the bedtime routine months ago. Helpful hint: DON'T BREAK A ROUTINE!)
• slept with mommy and daddy most of the night once
• ate some banana without her mesh feeder
• visited with the Rowe side of her family for the weekend
• played a lot with her cousins, Mistie and Mackenzie
• pooped in the ducky tub for the first time
• Read her papa's book about the battle at Chatanooga
• Took tons of cute pictures that you might not get to see for a few days because momma is way to tired to do any photo stuff tonight

How did this happen?

A couple of weeks ago Makayla was way to short to enjoy this fun gadget. We put her in it on Sunday, and she was so tall. Wow! It is up to her armpits instead of her neck. We used to put pillows in it, so she would not have her throat near the edge. Now it just fits! huh?

Banana anyone?

Makayla really likes to feed herself. In these pics she is feeding her self banana from her feeder as you as you saw in the video earlier this week.

We hope that you don't want any banana because she won't share.

Montana?

Makayla has a sudden interest in Montana. I have a feeling that we will be glad that he is very patient.

More Dada?

Makayla has really been talking up a storm lately. We were trying to get her to make her monster sound in this video. Instead all she wanted to do was talk to her Dada. I feel like she really knows what it means now because she will say it directly to him. In the video take note of the change in her tone of voice when she is saying Dada after he leaves. Sorry, It is a little dark.

This week Makayla...

• Went crazy for Dada
• Had her first visit to the optometrist=farsighted
• puked on the carpet a few times
• actually enjoyed her strawberry apple puffs
• tried corn and sweet potatoes for the first time
• painted her face purple
• drank water from her sippy
• woke up at 2:15 in the morning again
• smiled for the camera a bunch of times
• grew into her johnny jump up
• didn't get rid of her thrush
• finished her first (hopefully last) round of antibiotics
• started to make her monster sound
• moved to a different room at school

Thrush Face

Makayla has thrush again. This time it is probably from her antibiotics that she was on for her mastitis. We gave her what the dr. prescribed. It did not work again. I really didn't expect it to work, because it did not work last time. All of my experts told me that I needed to just give her gentian violet because it was much faster. I decided to try it once to see what happened. IT IS GREAT STUFF! Her thrush was gone after the first use. We used the Rx stuff for 7 days with no change. One drawback to the GV... Well check it out for yourself. It earned the name gentian VIOLET.

I think that we all know what this means. She pushes up on all 4's and rocks back and forth! She's getting ready. I am excited that she has reached another milestone, but I am so not ready to be chasing her around. I also leave junk on the floor. We are already having to take care of that though. Oops! I learned that lesson the hard way when she ate some paper.

Nathan got a book from Makayla for Father's Day. She wrote in it and everything. I really do mean everything. She even tried to eat it as you can see.

Sorry again

I Hope that none of you saw the blog last night after I got tired of working on it! It was not too pretty. I really hope that none of you saw that. In a moment of pure insanity, I decided to form a family website instead of blogging. A friend on BBC gave me the idea. It seemed great, but I just don't want to mess with all of the headache of a website. Anyway, It did not work the way that I had hoped. I could not get the blog portion to work, and it was just a huge mess. I may try again later with a different web host, but I just don't want to mess with all of that right now. This is so much more user friendly anyway. Maybe I will try again when Martina gets her's up and running using her web host instead of the one I tried. I really wanted you to be able to access my blog, makayla's blog, makayla's digiscrap book, and other photos in one place. My thought was that a one-stop-shop would be much more user freindly for everyone. Maybe later.

Yum! Yum! Mum Mums!

Makayla loves Baby Mum Mums rice rusks! Thanks Jennifer for the tip! She eats the veggie flavored. She actually does really well feeding herself. She is not too crazy about the little puffs. To be honest, I don't give them to her very often because their small size freaks me out! These are much bigger, so I don't worry to much about choking. I read the other day that they are much less likely to choke when feeding themselves than when others feed them because they have more control. That gives me some peace of mind.
